What happen in the 1900 century, during the time of George Orwell vision for a governed democracy? In 1917-1920 a wide spread fear of Bolshevism and anarchism existed calling it the (First Red Scare). In 1918 a Great War was being fought for a moral cause and for postwar peace in Europe, also Japanese civilians and soldiers, along with Russian white Army partician forces with the Red Army. Oceania in a world of perpetual war, Omnipresent government, surveillance and public manipulation dictated by a political system euphemistically named English Socialism, or Ingsoc in the government's invented language, New Speak) under the control of a privileged inner party elite, that persecutes individualism and independent thinking. The tyranny is epitomized by (Big
Brother), which is known as the term symbolic figurehead. He is claimed to be the leader of Oceania, a totalitarian state where in the ruling party wields total power. George Orwell talks about this where every citizen is under constant surveillance by the authorities, using the phrase "Big Brother is watching you". The term Big Brother has entered the lexicon as a synonym for abuse of government power, particularly in respect to civil liberties, relating to mass surveillance. Through all these facts of government and political issues, and why are we here? Leads us to the 20th century, saying! We are here, because we are letting it happen, as George Orwell talks and writes about.
Moore over the question to be ask is not how precise its predictions are, but to what extent approximates a direction, and how germane its vision of totalitarian power is to our century. In my research I've discover, that Today's government has arrived into the predicted writings of George Orwell after 30years ago. We still have wars of government branches in America as well as other countries. George Orwell said the wars was built on clothes, shoes, food and total power control over the people. There are no change since of his writings from the 1900 century until the 20th century. The difference is we used modern forces such as missiles, guns, etc… to convey our evil wicked system.
In our culture today, we still have the same constructions of government, which is why in George Orwell writing, clearly states (Don’t let it happen), meaning fight for your rights, take a stand, speak against the horror, of a control democracy, that has planned to destroy the freedom of humans. The argument was that the British wanted to enforce the wickedness of political powers while Orwell was against it. George Orwell a famous Essayist, a Novelist, and Critic, George Orwell is a name most people have herd of at one point of time. George Orwell job was a sub divisional officer. Moore over, In this enlightened of Orwell’s life and work, acquaintance’s and contemporary events, we will define the details in his two landmarks novels of social revolution and progress of 1984 Animal Farm, and also examines the lesser known but no less , views of man and society according to the short story in shooting an elephant
“He wears a mask, and his face grows to fit it.
The short story, “Shooting an Elephant”, begins with a troubled man, George Orwell, trying to fit into a society where his occupation and ethnicity are looked down upon. Orwell seemingly hates his occupation, as a British imperial police-man, more than the people around him. However, early one morning he received a call about an escaped elephant terrorizing the bazaar. He decides to go see what the fuss is about, taking with him an old 44 Winchester only. While searching for the elephant, he comes upon a dead man that the elephant had trampled. This caused him to send an orderly to retrieve for an elephant rifle, likely out of fear for his own safety. When the orderly returned he came with the rifle and information about the elephant’s whereabouts. When Orwell went to seek out the elephant, a large crowd followed him made him nervous. Once he had located the elephant, he took time to get a good position to shoot the elephant. Nonetheless, he felt the crowd was silently forcing him to shoot the ravaging animal, which he did. The animal laid gasping for air after receiving three shots to the head. Orwell tried to end its life quickly but to no avail. Afterwards he has discussions with British colonies after the shootings. He even mentions how he was glad the man had been trampled which justified him shooting the animal, even if it was just him not wanting to look like a fool. This was a defining moment in Orwell’s life which again lead him into his life style of” Why I write”
This is built on the lesson of history, now it is clear that language must have the political and economics clauses to form a new world order gov’t, which require proper language usage. George Orwell was born in 1903 in India to a British officer and later immigrated to England. He went to Eton College, which acquainted him with England's upper and middle class. He was denied a grant, which drove him to turn into a cop for the Indian Imperial in 1922. During his writing career, Orwell used sharp insight and mind, a significant consciousness of imperialism, extraordinary resistances to totalitarianism, an enthusiasm for clarity in dialect check his work, and a faith in popularity based communism. Considered maybe the twentieth century's best recorder of English society, Orwell composed fiction, polemical news-casting, artistic feedback and verse. He is best known for the tragic novel Nineteen Eighty-Four (distributed in 1949) and the sarcastic novella Animal Farm (1945)—they have together sold a bigger number of duplicates than any two books by whatever other twentieth-century writer. His 1938 book Homage to Catalonia, a record of his encounters as a volunteer on the Republican side amid the Spanish Civil War, together with various expositions on legislative issues, writing, dialect, and society, are broadly acclaimed
Finally, the term defining moments we all have them. George Orwell defining moments before his death was (Don’t let it happen). Don’t let Governments greed, power, or force of threat change your life or you’re Country. By being under the control of any mask wearing, to cause you to become mentally oppressed. Instead do something about it, like participate in voting, protest against anti laws, and march in groups around the white house “Why I write”.
